MANUAL THERAPY

Our physiotherapists often use a combination of joint mobilizations and massage (as well as other trusted techniques) to get you moving.

IMS

Intramuscular Stimulation is a comprehensive assessment and treatment tool that targets shortened muscles affected by distress and injury. Acupuncture needles are used to release the shortened muscle to decrease pain, increase mobility and promote healing.

INJURY EDUCATION

Take the fear out of your injury and know EXACTLY what you have to do to get back to what you love doing. We teach you with the same knowledge we teach health care practitioner students, to stay ahead of your injury. Find the source of your injury, not just chase the pain.

ACTIVE REHABILITATION

Active rehab, or specific strengthening, is a key component of getting you back to normal (or better). Keep control of the movement you gained and stop irritating the injury. It is also vital in helping you learn about your body, and to help set realistic and attainable goals.

CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT

We are experienced in concussion management, ranging from acute to chronic post-concussions. We treat a combination of factors that contribute to an often difficult return to normal life.

TITLEIST PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE GOLF ASSESSMENT

A specific screening tool designed by the Titleist Performance Institute to identify issues of mobility and stability that will affect your golf swing. Corrections in these areas will improve your golf swing and help prevent injuries

SURGICAL CARE

If you are waiting for surgery, or just had surgery, please contact us. We will ensure you are prepared for the best post-surgical outcome. We work with your surgeon to ensure you progress as expected, and get back to your normal activities safely, and in a timely manner.

ACUPUNCTURE

Very thin disposable needles are shallowly inserted into various points on the body corresponding to the 14 Chinese Meridians to help improve healing, decrease pain and control inflammation in the body. The needles are left in for 5-20 minutes to help re-stimulate the flow of energy or “Qi”.

TRACTION

Many spinal injuries are caused by a compression to the region around the nerves. In combination with manual therapy and strengthening, Mechanical Traction can be the perfect adjunct treatment to provide both pain relief and to decompress the region, allowing the nerve to once again function normally.

TAPING

Rigid taping is a great way to protect an injured area, or direct the movement pattern in the dysfunctional region. Kinesio-taping is a newer technique designed to unload the muscle and lymphatic system to allow pain relief and better muscle activation. We are highly skilled in these techniques, and often teach them to other health care practitioners!
